The Benefits of Facial Peels
Who doesn’t want smooth, blemish-free skin? By sloughing off or removing the top layer of skin (dermis), you’ll see visibly hydrated and refreshed skin. No matter the type of of facial you choose, you’ll enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating experience.
The Types of Facial Peels
Vargas Face & Skin Center offers many different kinds of peels to benefit and restore your skin. Which one sounds like the right choice for you?
Chemical peels. By applying a chemical solution of Glycolic, TCA or Jessner, a chemical peel effectively, yet gently, removes the damaged outer layer of your skin. The precise formula of your chemical facial peel (light, medium or deep) may be adjusted to meet your needs. At Vargas Face & Skin Center, a chemical facial peel processes in about 10 minutes as it gently exfoliates the skin. You’ll feel a warm, comforting sensation during your chemical peel.
Photo facials. A photo facial treatment treats the face, neck and/or chest using pulses of visible light. During a series of five or more treatments performed every four weeks, you’ll see a vast improvement to facial redness as well as reduced signs of sun damage and aging. Patients suffering from rosacea especially benefit from photo facial treatments.
HydraFacial. The HydraFacial MD® is truly a revolutionary experience for your skin. Using the Vortex-Fusion® serum delivery system, this multi-step treatment cleanses, evenly exfoliates and extracts to remove impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients including antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid to your skin. You’ll experience healthier, damage-free skin almost instantly.
What to Expect from a Facial Peel
Facial peels are not uncomfortable. In fact, many of our patients look forward to their treatments. Lighter peels need to be repeated more often, usually in a small series. The more aggressive peels may only need to be performed once. Post-procedure redness is normal and usually subsides within a couple of days. Peeling or flaking may or may not occur and doesn’t relate to the success of the treatment. Any procedure that addresses cosmetic needs is not usually covered by insurance. Special cases like trauma may be reimbursable in part or whole. It is the patient’s responsibility for pre-approval of coverage and to process the claim for insurance.
